Punta Cana Resorts
Year-round temperatures average 71 to 87 degrees in Punta Cana. A generous, 30-mile stretch of sand is divided into six separate beach areas that offer an array of activities, like kayaking, parasailing, glass-bottom boat rides, catamaran outings and horseback rides. Plus, you'll find plenty of inviting beach chairs for lounging.

Sportfishing is a favorite pastime, especially among those who seek billfish. Anglers cast a line for white marlin from March through July and blue marlin from July through September. Dorado, wahoo, mahimahi and sailfish also are big catches, depending on the season.

The Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean Sea meet at Punta Cana, which makes diving conditions rough -- it's not recommended for beginners in scuba. But experienced divers can explore underwater volcanic caves and several interesting shipwrecks.

Punta Cana Resorts Visitors can have up-close encounters with the local wildlife at Manati Park, inhabited by iguanas, flamingos, sea lions and dolphins. This attraction also is known for the showmanship of its 'dancing' horses.

A few Punta Cana hotels have casinos, and there are a number of 18-hole golf courses in the area. Shoppers will find items of local amber and blue larimar stone prominently displayed in stores. When the sun goes down, Punta Cana's nightspots hum with the sounds of merengue, bachata and salsa music.
